Ok, in that case you should be getting fertile eggs within a week hopefully. If you get fertile eggs sooner then he obviously mater her without you knowing, which is highly likely.

After a chicken has been mated it takes about 7-10 days for the sperm to reach the oviduct where the eggs are made.

Mine are 3-8, but it really just depends on the breed and the chicken. So yes, it will probably take a silkie 6-10 days.

Just want to add that when I incubate, I don't toss eggs until at least day 12-13. "Experts" often suggest not tossing any at all unless they leak, or smell. Its very possible to have supposed infertile eggs hatch. Sometimes its just hard to tell.
