egg found in duck pond(with duckling inside)

    I was cleaning out the pond today and found an egg at the bottom of the pond, it was all cracked and inside was (what i think was a duckling) it was all pink and the yolk was all yellow and looked like a cooked egg, Its so strange as i dont know how it got there other than the duck laying it in the pond, I thought that eggs only grew ducklings if they were being incubated.

    It couldnt have been a baby duck if the egg was laid in the pond-they have to be sat on for alot of days before a baby duck actually forms. SOmetimes birds lay funky eggs with funky stuff in them:-(
