Egg inside and egg?!

What would cause a RIR to lay an egg that when you cracked it, it had another whole complete egg but way smaller inside of it? I don't have the pics here myself but when my daughter is home tomorrow I can ask her to dig out the pics if needed. It was pretty weird but awesome at the same time:D
 
It happens, but very rarely. It's the result of an egg losing its way in the oviduct, moves in the opposite direction after getting a shell, gets another layer of albumin and shell before making its way out....I guess.
