Egg Layers - How long do you keep them??

I, personally have a retirement home for chickens. Some of my girls are 3+ years old and I get eggs from them every other day. BLRW, blue JG, blue Rock and some others. I'm fine with that. They lay better than some of the other girls I have.

My BR Henrietta is pushing 8-9 yrs old and she's still laying. I'm sure it's not as much as when she was at her peak but I think she's a trooper and give her lots
of praise for each and every egg!

She's become so much a part of our family and we plan to keep her even if she stops laying and needs a little chicken-sized
walker to get around the yard and a little hearing aide to hear when I call her to come get treats but we're weird like that so....::shrugs and winks::
