Egg Laying Cam - wireless video streaming or still-shot motion sensor?

I see you moved it toward the egg boxes and you already have an egg in one at 8:21AM EST!!!!

Where are you located? We are in Michigan. How many chickens do you have? I counted about 10 in the coop sleeping last night.

Thank you. We will be watching your nesting boxes!

Nope! That's a golf ball! I am in Galveston TX. I have 10 birds in that coop and 2 in the grow-out coop, which I have a cheap web-cam in, not an IP cam.

If the camera re-boots (which it does a couple of times a day) it will automatically reset to the front of the coop so it may not be pointed to the boxes all day till I get home.

9:14PM EST. Just saw you moving the camera around to see the chickens. What time does your door close? It would be cool to watch it. It's automatic right?

Yup... just doing a head count to make sure everybody was in the coop. The door closes and automatically locks from the inside right about 9PM CST. 10PM your time. Tune in, if a bird's not in the way of the cam!

Cool. My wife and I have had fun today watching them. I ordered a D-Link wireless cam with night vision. It should be here Monday. Only bad thing is it doesn't move. I'm praying that the coop is close enough to our wifi in the house to get the signal. It says that I can watch from a computer or my android phone. Can't wait to try it on Monday!

Turning off my laptop now (it's been on all day) and logging in from my android phone to watch your door close in 30 minutes! Have a nice night!

Just making a prediction here... within a year, you'll get another one with pan, tilt, zoom. It's the only way to go!

I'm thinking that if I install 2 cameras - one facing the egg boxes and the other on the perch I should be all set. The coop is only 4x4x4 so there's really not a lot of room for action inside.

We are watching your egg boxes again this morning. :)

From 9:56AM to 10:03 Eastern time one of your dark colored chickens was in the box closest to the right (the windows). I bet she left you and egg! :D

1:43PM EST.......... We are still checking in on your chickens. Looks like they layed a few eggs. Now all we need to see is you collecting them out of the boxes!!!

7:51PM EST.......... Nothing new. Coop is empty. Guess your flock is outside having fun.

I have the Foscam FI8919W. The motion detection is pretty sensitive, though I know you can set it for your needs. It also has infrared for night vision and two way audio. Less than $100.
This baffles me because best price I can find for FI8919W is $195. Please link me to where you found it for 100. Thanks :)
