So I was pretty sure that the Peking laid two eggs the other day and today I'm sure she laid two. The first one was fine, the second one was on the softer side, but with two yolks. One yolk was still in the egg and the other was out of the egg. I have not cracked any of the eggs yet, but I can tell you that the yolk today was a wonderful color.i started giving them oyster shell yesterday. The khaki is eating it, I have not saw the Peking eat it. Is it normal to get two eggs a day? I want to make sure she is ok. She is running around, swimming, digging--all her normal stuff.

It's ok. I knew you thought it was pekin chickens. But since the OP posted in the duck forum and I know they have ducks who are recent layers (as well as chickens I believe), I figured they meant theor ducks. ;)

No big deal. I called my son up and asked if his wife was pregnant. You know the double yolk thing. The thing is he said no, but it was not an immediate no. Then he said we wouldn't tell you anyway. They have this whole big thing about surprising everyone when it happens. I told him well if she is and you guys know it she is having twins, have a good night and I hung up...lol

So now it seems she is laying them right by the gate, like she is saying here is your dam egg, are you happy?

Meanwhile, its been 3 days today since the khaki has laid an egg. How much longer should I give it before I get concerned?

At least I think it's not the khaki laying. I wish I can catch them in the act but those ducks are sneaky...
