Egg laying issues

So for the past month one of my chickens has been having some issues with her eggs. At first it started it off with her eggs getting calcium deposits and then one time she was acting very sick and weak and I brought he inside and tended to her and she layed the egg membrane and yolk and was doing much better after that. That made me nervous so I started supplementing and putting some omega egg laying powder in with their food and gave them all some poultry cell in their water and dewormer them. The next couple days she continued to lay shell less eggs under their roosts and then they started to get some calcium on them again but still have the deposits. Now it seems like she’s back to the shell less membrane eggs. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I know if it was nutritional deficiency it would take some time to correct itself but I’m worried about them breaking inside her or getting egg yolk peritonitis. Right now she’s acting totally normal, eating and drinking, although I did notice almost diarrhea like poop a couple times (from the deworming maybe?). Any ideas or people who have had similar situations?

I had a friend with a hen with a similar issue and we thought it could be a calcium or vitamin D deficiency but as it turned out she had an oviduct abnormality. She tried everything before finally finding a vet that specialized in poultry and they said the issue may never resolve itself and she may be in pain on a daily basis. They recommended spaying her (but it was spelled different) which I'd never heard of! I hope that's not the case with your girl. I've only had a few soft shell eggs from new layers.

Oh really? Do you know if she did end up spaying her?

I wish I could say yes but no. She ended up having her humanely euthanized due to the expense. I do remember them saying it was extremely rare though so I'm helping yours is just a nutrient issue or something easy.

Stress can also cause egg issues.

Sounds like a red or black sexlink. They generally don’t last but 3 or 4 years due to egg issues unforutantly, every single one of mine died to something egg related.Started having odd eggs, egg sacks hanging out, laying random eggs while in the worse condition, laying egg yolks etc.
