egg laying problems

im new to raising chickens and have 2 hens ..their 16 wks old , one (khloe) is acting like she's "tired" ..all she wants to do for the last 24 is "lay down " or what it looks like squat , her head she carries low and always wants to close her eyes ...i call her name she opens them and responds with a little chirp ....what is the behavior of hens laying for the forst time ..is this what shes doing ??..please im scared for her and dont want anything to happen to her ....i feed her 16% layer and treats daily and make sure they have fresh ice water through out the day as i noticed they dont like any kind of "dust " in the water .....please help

. How long has her neck been that way? It could be wry neck which is easily fixed with Vitamin E.

I am not an expert by any means as my chicks haven't started laying yet, but I read these boards a lot. Is it possible she is egg bound (egg stuck inside her)? You can search for that term to see symptoms and treatments...but it involves soaking the bird in warm water and feeling inside her to see if you can feel a stuck egg.

That's the only thing I can think of. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and Khloe...I hope she gets through this.

its been almost a week since this happened ..dont quite know what was the problem but a friend of mine told me to go to tractor supply and get tylan 50 (used for cattle and swine but don't worry)
gave her 1 cc injected in the back of her neck just under the skin ..24 hrs later she got another 1 cc's orally for 3 days ....



i gave her electrlytes every hr on the hr to get her hydrated it seems to help ..tractor supply sells packs of this as a mix


i also made a "mash" with the layer i feed her ..mixed electrlytes with layer to make it soft enough to be able to go into the syringe as she wasnt eating on her own i did this just a couple of times during the 2nd day as i wasnt sure how her stomach would react to food because she was so weak



on the evening of the second day khloe started to drink slowly on her own ..i was sooo happy to see her come back to me ....i never left her side , and today im proud to post this picture of my beloved khloe ...look how beautiful and proud she is ....ya know before this happened khloe was a little skiddish with me , we became more than caretaker/pet ...we became "friends" as she now follows me around and when she hears my voice she comes running toward me ....i love her so much xoxoxo she is very healthy and is out playing better than ever
this is khloe in the front ...and kiki is in the back jus a piggin out as i clean the play yard tonight ..

one dose of tylan daily only .for 2-3 days ...(1 cc's )
