egg laying question

I have a (Serama x Old English Banty) hen that has been laying a egg every other day for a week she hadnt laid a egg in 3 days. i seen her on the nest for about two hours today I watched all the other birds and her no other bird got in the nest with her. My question is can they lay two eggs in a day? My freind tells me that they wont lay two in a day that I have another hen layin. As i said i watched her and she was the only bird in the nestbox and in the coop.

Any help and advise is welcome

I have an EE that has given me two eggs in one day. It's only happened twice, but it's happened. She's my only EE out of my flock, so I know it was her. From what I've heard, it doesn't happen very often. None of my other birds has done that.

So does this mean i will be getting an egg aday now or still every other day.
