Egg missing!!!???!!!

Hi all,

This is day 10 of hatching 3 eggs with a broody hen, and today, suddenly one of the eggs is missing!!! I checked all three nesting boxes and looked on the floor of the coop, I even checked my egg cartons to make sure no one had got the egg by accident thinking it was a eating egg. I looked under miss broody and she was sitting on only two of her fertile eggs, and one regular egg. By the way, she saw other eggs in a different nest and sat on them, leaving her two eggs she was supposed to be sitting on cold for who knows how long! EGG #3 IS MISSING!

What happened to it???

I have a snake that lives somewhere around here, I've seen it about 5 times around the house. (Oh, OUTSIDE. Seen it around outside.) Its day 10, so would they really eat a chick inside the egg? I don't know...

Absolutely, snakes will.

I meant would the other chickens eat the chick inside the egg. Not the snake.

I did have it happen to a lady I gave eggs to that the third egg was eaten. She found the shell in the bedding.

There’s a good chance it might.

You should find where it’s getting in and block it off.
