There’s a good chance it might.
You should find where it’s getting in and block it off.
Today, no more eggs missing! Few!

Wow. I have four broodies. I have been super sick with food poisoning today, so I had my daughter go collect eggs. She ran in, excited, because a chick had hatched. I mustered up the energy to go look and she was missing two of her eight eggs. I checked under the other broodies, but didn't find them. No shell, no egg, nothing. Sitting the whole time with all eight eggs, then losing two at hatch time. So strange. I sure hope I don't have a snake.

Thank you. It's much better today, but I feel like I have been beat with a stick.I'm sorry you have been super sick.![]()

Mama chicken has four babies so far, and three unhatched eggs, so only one is actually missing. I didn't see the one EE egg yesterday, but the shell was in the nest this morning. A bantam egg is the missing one.
When I checked on them this evening two were with Scrunchie (white frizzle) and two were with Ebony. It was originally Ebony's nest, but all four broodies have moved to different nests on different days.Aww, the babies must be so cute! I hope you recover completely so you can enjoy them.
