Egg prices WILL rise again

I like to help people that I know don't have much. We ourselves live on 1 income and that's not much at all now with the prices the way they are. I have even bought dry beans at the grocery store and brought them home and canned them. I buy chicken only when its 50% off and I can it (just canned some today). I buy only the marked down beef and pork. I rarely pay fuul price for anything.

And for those who buy whole milk at the store, it's only 26% milk. So if you buy skim, guess what your drinking. I know this because right now we are blessed to have a friend that gives us milk from his dairy farm. AMEN. And we are intending on furnishing him and his family with eggs for trade.

To the one who asked if goats are expensive. They really aren't, unless you let them wonder onto other peoples property and reak havack.

I guess people aren't as respectful and responsible as they used to be.

Keep posting your thoughts

the whole milk that you get from the store is stripped down.nothing left in it but water.real whole milk is thick an creamy.an i should know.im a retired dairymen after 27yrs.

I sure ain't worth $4.89 a gallon. And the cheapest I have found around here is at Dollar General Market in Collinsville, VA for $3.75 a gallon. It's just ourageous!!!!!

Gas in my town is $3.09 per gallon
Milk is $3.89
Eggs $2.29 (my chicks are only 5 weeks)
All natural chic starter $14.50 from a local grain store

I was thinking of getting a pygmy goat next year.
Can I only get one or do they need the company of each other?
And we only have 1 1/2 acres some of it wooded. Is this enough?

Thank you,
Ed

I believe it is best to buy 2 so they won't become lonely and start reaking havack and you have enough land I do believe. Just make sure to keep them in your yard.

This is just a sad fact. When the gas price goes up so does everything else. But, when the prices for gas drops such as in winter the prices for merchandise and everything else stays the same until the next gas hike.

LOL! Yup! Getting livestock seems to be on everyone's minds lately. My chicks are selling faster than I can hatch or order them. I have people wanting to buy my two goats which I have no intention of selling. In fact I pln to add a nubian and alpine to my little herd.

I feel guilty for starting the goat thing. LOL

Perhaps I should get that goat. After all, it would save $3.88/gal at the store. My partner loves to make cheese, so I am all about that. Anyone have goats in Central FL for sale?
