Have a rhodie that was laying large brown eggs but for the past week has been laying eggs that are the size of quail eggs, no yolks to boot whats up with that? Feed hasn't changed, did get a new bag a couple of weeks ago from the same place I've always gotten it, also have been mixing Layena pellets with laying mash. I keep the feeder full, so no lack of food and see her eating, she just came out of molt about a month ago and had laid eggs through out molt. Is this some sort of delayed reaction to molt ? she lays once a day that I know of could she be laying more and this is just a bonus I know which hen it is she lays same time everyday the little egg, haven't caught her covering a larger one. I don't have a roo and haven't added or removed any of her pen mates? Any ideas or suggestions? Had a problem with a couple of chicken not re-growning feathers after molt and have added some high protein food in a separate feeder (wet cat food as suggested) could that be causing it? Have also been allowing her to free range in the am but can't let her all day because of predators so she gets a couple of hours out while I work in the garden and take care of the goats.
