So iv got 4 lace hens and 2 isa hens. All laying however im not 100% sure which is laying what egg. But when i brought the lace hens i got told their eggs are large in size and so far i have been getting 2 large eggs a week. Does that mean not all lace hens are laying or do they start laying medium size eggs then large because i caught one lace either just laid an egg or was sitting on it making that song ' ive just laid'
Help.

Often, when a pullet starts laying her eggs will be somewhat smaller. In time the eggs do become larger.

I've found that egg size can vary from pullet to pullet for some time after they start laying. Even with my older girls, every once in awhile I'll get an egg that makes me look at her and say, "Now, Ida - I KNOW you can do better than this!" Then from good old Ida will come eggs that are huge - she's given me one egg that was 119 grams and one that was 123 grams. So yes, egg size can vary, especially early on. But you know what? Those little eggs are just as tasty as the big 'uns! Just takes a few extra to make an omelet!
