I thought my BR would lay first bc she has the biggest and brightest comb n waddles... But she didn't.... My BO and I think 1 of my BA's are just starting... My wellie is real red but nothing from her either.

Well, so much with trying to look for signs for laying. Their time is not our time.

My girls are in the coop wondering what's going on with the one BR who lays. Hummmmm!

I woke up this morning to a glorious chorus of egg song outside so I jumped out of bed to go collect my eh which I assumed Cloud had laid. I didn't even put my contacts in or anything. Apparently she's also one who suns before she lauds because I got out there in time to see her pick out a nest box and get comfy. So I sat there in the coop for 15 minutes to watch her lay her egg. It was very uneventful lol. When she was done she just hopped or and left lol

After many egg songs this morning, we finally have an egg!!!

Small but perfect and a lovely light brown color.

The girls are 21 weeks old, so right on schedule!

.. .... My BR finally laid her first egg this morning... It was a 2 hr ordeal, I felt sorry for her... She sang about 5x before she laid. Lol.

Yes! It was almost as if she didn't know exactally what was happening.

Some of our sing before and after the lay... and some will sit in the nesting box forever (or seems like) after they are done... I guess a few like to nap afterward

We're up to 13 consistently a day... so 2 more that hopefully will start soon!

15 and already talking about getting more next spring... But will be selective in breeds when we choose next just to have some variety. I love my girlies though... Each one is so unique and so special.... (Sorry getting sappy)
