Egg Song! Glorious Egg Song!

So my girls have sung the egg song nearly every day for a week with plenty of submissive squats, but no eggs! I think they are teasing me!

My BO Daisy laid her 2nd egg today... WHOO Hoo... She's the only one laying so far.... No egg song, gosh she stayed in their 30 min at least.... When she finally came out she screamed 2 quick BAWK BAWKS, like HELLO IM DONE!! It was cute !! Guess that's her version of it....

I'm on the same tract. My BR laid her 2nd today too. Spent 30 min too. Screamed too. What was so cute, was the other 4 hens stood right outside waiting for her to be finished, and when she was they all came running down the run celebrating. She's the only one laying too.

That is too cute!! Mine were in the back 40 paying no attention. Lol. They need to watch and learn... Haha.

I am doing the fake eggs in the nest box and that's where my BR hen laid her first and second egg. Did your eggs come out small? Mine did.

Yes my eggs were small too.... I think I read where they get bigger as they continue to lay...

I was wondering the same thing so I looked up Sebrights pictures on line and she is a sebright. There are many different colors.

Congrats on the cute little egg. Is she a sebright? She's beautiful.

@dutchlion she is stunning. I have two golden sebrights, one is our Roo, Loudmouth. I adore him. Midnight was all black when we got her, now she looks just like him. They are so pretty.

Yeah, they aren't free range. They only get to forage when I'm in the backyard to keep an eye on them. I've checked the nest boxes, coop and the run. Nada!

@tntchix i think we would have had a golden as well. we originally purchased 2 bantams... Vespa passed at only a few days old :'( she was by far the smallest and weakest chick... maybe next year when we get more chickens (i understand chicken math better than anything they ever taught in school!) we will get more sebrights... i do enjoy our Moneypenny very much ... our others are more affectionate, but they don't have the personality that the sebrights do... your goldens are beautiful!!!! thank you for sharing them!!!!

After weeks of the egg song and no eggs, a few days ago she started to squat. Today I heard the egg song... Didn't rush thinking she was crying wolf again. And found my first egg!! Miss Dot is 20 weeks old
