Egg sticking to vent

About a week ago, I found an egg with a little bit of blood on the outside. I knew by the color of the egg which hen it was and checked her vent the next day while she was nesting. I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary but ever since then her eggs have been on the floor. I thought maybe someone was kicking them out
Today I happened to be in the coop when she laid and when she stood up, the egg was stuck to her vent. When she hopped down, it fell off explaining the daily egg on the floor.

Any idea why she is having this issue and if there's anything I can do to help her?

They are free-range.
They are fed Nutrena All Flock with eggshell and oyster shell options. They are provided plenty of water and get ACV, oregano, or garlic alternated in the water as well as an additive-free water option.

This is Morgan, a Black Cochin. When she was younger and still laying, she's now ten, her very wet eggs would stick to her fine butt fluff. I brought her into the house to take a photo of her egg stuck to her butt for a BYC thread I made on the subject asking for advice. (Can't find it, but it's on the site somewhere.)

She would lay her egg in a nest, jump out, and it would ride around on her butt fluff until it finally fell off in the run somewhere. I was trying to figure out ways to keep the egg from sticking to her butt, and I finally bought some silicone horse grooming tonic after trying a human hair product which did no good but made her smell like a cheap whore. The horse product didn't work either. Finally she grew too old to lay and the problem was moot.

The issue is with the bloom on the egg. Some hens have a very thick, gooey wet bloom. Your hen likely is in this category. You can try trimming the butt feathers around the vent so the egg can slip past them without sticking to them. Or follow her after she leaves the nest and be ready to catch the egg when it falls off.

Sounds like the bloom on the outside of the egg is sticking to her feathers. It can happen occasionally. Perhaps her egg bloom is a bit sticky. I don't think you can do much about it though.

Like others above already stated, it's from the bloom. It's not uncommon. I had a hen that this used to happen to and I would see her going around the yard with and egg stuck to her butt fluff, running full speed like she was trying to get away from it, until it fell off somewhere. A little trimming of the fluff should do the trick.

My guess is that's why her eggs are the darkest then, a thicker bloom.

x3 on trimming butt fluff. Shouldn't have to take off too much, but just helps to give the bloom less to cling onto when the hen leaves the nest.

Would it help to also grease her vent with Vaseline every night, to help the egg slip through? Just wondering ...
