egg stuck to chicken butt, looks like it is incased in a membrane

we removed the egg, it was hanging out of the chickens vent but covered in a membrane of sorts, after removing the egg part of the chicken still is hanging out of the vent, she seems fine, eating and scratching - what is this, can we help her??

Sounds like prolapse, but I'm not very knowledgeable about this. I'll at least bump you up. Good luck!

I'd use search for "prolapse", that might be the problem, but I'm not very experienced.

I have not had this happen but I went and typed into search and there is several post on this ( look up in the upper right hand corner ). I copied this hope it helps you
