Egg too small, duckling pipped, struggling to breathe, no noise, day 28 - pic attached

It’s like string sticky mucus stuff
Looks like it on the q tip
I still see some thicker veins but a lot has gone down
He looks good
It’s very scary to do this but rewarding when you have a beautiful baby you save
Check those thicker veins in a few hours and see how they are going down
Baby is looking good
Soon you will have a sweet duckling :)
Thank you so much for all the help! I really how your right 😁

Still waiting for my guy. He still seems to be ok in there.

Most of those veins look pretty red to me which means they are full of blood. Are you keeping the membrane moist? It's looking kinda dry. I'd leave it alone. Make sure your humidity is up where it's supposed to be in the incubator and let it finish absorbing all those veins.

Are you able to try more Q tip to get that goo stuff out around baby
Also if you have a tiny pair of scissors ones for nails you could try to cut the membrane where the thick veins are not then pull it back over the shell gently. I used Vaseline to help hold it over the shell.

Why? Is there a reason to do those things now, instead of waiting until the veins recede?

Yes. I try. I use coconut oil. I probably should have taken the picture after I pulled him up

There is goo they can cement the baby inside the egg
This will not affect the veins receding and will prevent a baby cemented and stuck inside
I did this with all my assisted babies and got lots of that goo out
Moving the membrane away where the veins have gone down will also not prevent baby from absorbing but it does give you more room to get the q tip in and prevent baby from sticking
