My husband and I have only had chickens for a little over a year. Recently we have had some eggs with very watery whites. Do we need to add something to their diet? Occasionally we get an egg with a thin shell but we do provide oyster shells. Is the watery egg safe to eat? We have eaten them but made sure they were cook throughly. Thanks for any help.

im not sure on the watery whites but i will comment on the shells....i put out oyster shells free choice but i have found that my girls perfer the egg shells that i microwave for 1 1/2 minute (let cool) then crumble and scatter in the yard.
