We have 4 adult hens and 4 two month old chicks. Recently I noticed a dropping in the chicks section of the coop that had a bit of blood on it. To be safe I have ordered Ampromed to treat for cocci. I plan to treat both the adults and the chicks (as well as do a complete coop scrub down). My question is: Is egg withdrawal necessary after we treat? All 4 of our adult hens lay regularly and I can't find anything online that talks about whether Ampromed requires egg withdrawal.

I am new to raising chickens and of course one of my first brood of chicks got cocci. The book I bought said that you can not eat eggs from a chicken treated with Sulmet because there is no withdrawl period. I got AmproMed P for Poultry and am now concerned it is the same as the Sulmet. Does anyone know if Sulmet is somehow different and that AmproMed is safe? Thanks!
