My chicken, 17 weeks, Cheeks- has been acting off the last few days, staying in coop, staying in nesting boxes. She’s pressing her neck into her body now. She’s always been a loner but this is excessive. She walks normal. Is drinking water. I’ve also given her scrambled eggs. She’s in my bath in the chicken hospital standing in place mostly. I’m waiting for poop to see what’s going on but she just went and it looks like someone spilt a little bit of egg yolk….

What do I need to do and look out for?
She’s got water with nutri drench in it. Not sour crop, not egg bound- she’s never laid an egg- makes no noise when I pick her up

She is now laying in bottom of tub as I just checked on her.
Pics of how she looks with her neck vs her normal look.

She may have not laid an egg yet in her young life, but that's likely what's going on right now. Do you have calcium tablets on hand? Calcium citrate is best as it works fastest, and fast is what she needs. But Tums will do in a pinch.

We can't see the poop, so tell us how it smells. Is it a regular poopy smell, slightly sulphuric? Or does it have an unusual biting acrid odor? If the latter, she's eggbound.

The calcium given directly into her beak can help encourage contractions to push out the obstruction. Give her a bunch of old towels for a nest. It will absorb this discharge and let us see what comes out of her.

Give her plenty of plain water handy so she can drink. This condition is often dehydrating and this makes it worse for her. Put a little sugar in it to entice her to drink and it will also give her a boost of energy to push out the egg.
