Eggbarassin' Question...

Ok...I tested these out on the family....BIG HIT! I used a cookie cutter to cut out shapes for the HOLE....heart, dragonfly, and PUMPKIN! I wished you all could have seen their faces....

ONLY problem now is that my 9 year old keeps wanting them and has cut the HOLE on a whole loaf of bread with our cookie cutters.

The small eggs are my 2 daughter's(ages4 & 5) personal favorite. They call them, "princess eggs" because they're tiny and dainty. My four year old says that they're only allowed to be eaten by little girls who are, "princesses."

I have 6 cochrin bantams and they are taking forever to lay . They MUST be 5 months old ...

I have a friend that has 25 bantams and she told me hers starting laying about 8 or 9 months old , BUT now are very good layers .... Infact, she would not have anything but bantams .

I only get smaller eggs when my hens 1st. start laying , then they are actually bigger than store bought . The smaller eggs and the larger eggs from flock all taste the same , BUT MUCH BETTER than store bought eggs ... YUMMY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We always called them frogs on a lilly pad and my mother always toasted the little round piece of bread. My kids (18y/o and 20y/o) still love them. I have no idea where the name came from its just what my grandfather called them. And I cant wait until I can collect my own eggs

ok....I did it....I googled TOAD IN A HOLE...

IT is english in origin...a loaf of unrisen dough with an egg an sausage put in the well of the bread...baked in the oven.

American Version...GO FIGURE...is a slice of bread with hold cut in middle with egg.
