Kid approved... and simple to make. Not a fancy recipe, but since my kids drink this like water, it's cheap and yummy, plus a good way to use up eggs! I think if you'd like it thick, like from the store, you could use whipping cream for some of the milk, whip it then fold in.

6 eggs
4 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
6 Tbs. Sugar
6 dashes of nutmeg
6 dashes of salt

Makes about 5 cups of Eggnog.

Blend and enjoy. Got this from an old Egg Recipe book... 1951. Culinary Arts Institute

We used one like that, no salt though.

Yes, this one is simple. Like I said, it's not the fanciest, but I had all the ingredients on hand and it's probably the simplest!

I don't worry about my eggs right now (especially with the temps around 30 degrees). They come out of the chicken and they're in the eggnog in a couple hours.

Better yet, do what I did last night- seperate your eggs. Get everything mixed together with the yolks, whip the whites to stiff peaks, then gently mix the whites in by 1/3's. Some heavy cream makes it good too.
