Duck eggs are 25 days in still air gator. Getting ready for lock down. Have noticed sm. amount fluid in air cell. Can see duck poking at membrane . Should I place eggs in egg crate in up position to help from drowning. Have temp now at 99 hum. @ 65%

I was wondering how your ducks turned out? Mine are in lock down now and only a slight wiggle out of one.

They didn't make it.

Oh no...Bucky, I'm so, so sorry. ._. *hugs* PM me if you need any support, ok?

Becky, I'm so sorry your little ones didn't make it. Do you have any ideas why? My temp is at 99-100 and humidity at 60-65%. I might need to change something if you think that had anything to do with yours not making it.

I had problem with thermostat , not good. Your settings seem fine.wish you good luck. Was looking forward to having some ducks. Hatched to soon , part of yoke still attached. Tried to save some but was not in the cards. Had 2 hang in till yesterday. So instead of having ducks running around in yard, they are buried there. I'm so angry at the new thermostat I got to keep temp stable. It's going back and I've told them what happened. It won't help the ducks. I need to regroup for a bit.

My temp. started dipping when I removed the air plugs. Has been really hard keeping it up today. I hope it stabilizes before bed time or it will be a very long night. No, we can never change what has already happened. Did you get your eggs by mail or local?

Just keep an eye on it,your so close now. Got the eggs from a friend whose duck was killed protecting the nest by a dog. She didn't make it. Friend heart broken it was one of her pets. She has no other ducks to sit on them and it had been 9 days brooding. So I had a gator and said I would try to save them. Well we know how that turned out. So sad. She is looking to find another female for her male ,who is not very happy these days. I hope all works out with your eggs .did you have them shipped to you. What type are they?

Oh my goodness! You don't know how close to home your story is. I have never even tried to hatch anything until now. My neighbors silkie was sitting on her egg when she was killed by a dog. (Along with 14 laying hens) The silkie was the girls pet.. I took it down the road to a friend that had Guinna (?) eggs in a bator. We didn't hold out any hope or even tell the kids what we had done. Thankfully, the silkie hatched 2 weeks later. It was bittersweet because she lost all but the silkie. Then, after finally sitting on her nest for 10 days, a snake got into my ancona ducks nest. She would not go back. That afternoon we went to TS and got a bator and put them in. As of last night they were all still alive. One actually started wiggling in the shell today! No progress, but I'm still hoping I can hatch these for her. My Daisi lays an egg everyday and I would bet they are all fertile(seeing her lifestyle). I don't know where you live, but I would gladly try to get some to you if I could find the proper way to ship etc. I am in Texas.

Looks like we did have a lot in common. It is real sweet of you to offer to send me some duck eggs. Thank you for your kind offer. But will pass on the offer. There is a farm here in Massachusetts ,were I live that has Ancona ducks. My friend and I will be going to look at what they have. But again thank you so much for your offer. I hope every thing work out with your eggs. Have you been reading up on what to do ? The humidity at around 25 days must go up to help them hatch out. Go on line and read up on it. Please let me know how you make out. Keep you in my prayers for a good turn out.
