Eggs almost ready to pip

Thanks, for the kind words. You must let me know when you go get some and what you're doing and progress. I had one wiggle yesterday and another today! At least 2 are still alive. I'm guessing when she was sitting they weren't incubating yet so I'll just wait. I found another on 6/22 and threw that in with the rest just to see if it was any good.( At least I dated it!) It's doing well, so on 7/20 it is due to hatch so the rest should be long out of there. I hope I don't have to give them that much extra time! I will keep you updated :)

How you doing with the duck eggs.? Anything happen yet?

One external piped but stopped. After 24 hours, part of the shell is turning dark and going around the air cell. I pulled off a bit of the shell and membrane to expose it's bill.(also pulled off all the shell of the dark) It's working it away now :) I had another external and I pick odd part of the cell. It broke the membrane on its own. Letting them rest for a while now.

Sounds like your going to have ducks soon! Don't rush them they need time to absorb all the yoke. You don't want them to come out with it still on . Please let me know how it's going.

I have two baby ducks now! I did help the first one out. It was so weak after trying for so long. They are both doing good! Yolk was absorbed in both. I should have my lone chick today, it's zipping now. (day 20 for it). I have 1 with external pip and 2 picking internal now. #3 is probably gone, but I'm going to wait until everyone else is done.

3 duckies and my (just found it laying on the ground) lone chick are all doing great! 2 more are external piped. One due in two days was picked by my newest baby. Since the baby wasn't ready to get out yet, I covered #6 slightly with a plastic bowel. It's not supposed to be her for 2 more days and there was blood. Maybe it can be still long enough to finish cooking. Still watching my #7. It's so long and irregular. I thought with all I've read it wouldn't make it, but seems to be on the home stretch! My #3, slow to develop, small shell and presumed dead isn't. I thought I saw it move(after nothing for 2 days). I candled it yet again and there IS movement but not close to internal pip yet. It could happen?

Happy for you. Glad you have live ducks after all your hard work.

Thank you Bucky! No movement for my #3 egg for two days. (Light or water candle) I will check again tomorrow but I'm all but 100% it is gone with no further development. I'm not as hurt my it because I didn't expect much because of how slowly it was developing. I am happy with my 5 ducklings and single chick. (I think is a rooster :((

Way to go a rooster.wow. Are the ducks Ancona ?
