Eggs and Antibiotics (My first post)

i'm in mt and my vet says 5 days on tetracycline and it's for the gurgling sneezing in them and it says on package 21 days but will do a month to be safe! What was wrong with your chickens??
 
how young can you add tetracycline to chicks for colds or gurgling ? how long do you give them these antibiotics and how to keep all 103 chicks from getting it??? HELP
