EGGS ARE HATCHING--3 fuzzybutts-Hatch Ended

FuzzyButt Lover, you will have to wait aaaaaaaaaaall night long to take more pictures. MEANwhile I'll watch DUCKIE TV.

Its going to be freezing, very soon. Mustn't chill those little fuzzy butts. Tomorrow will be warmer and maybe Auntie will take them for a walk around the house for their first food and water.

Also, We'll be adding another heat light tomorrow and I'm sure we'll snap a few Pics. When DH went shopping he bought another Camera, so I can watch more DUCKIE TV at the Duckie Smorgasboard. I so want to see Mommie Hatch an egg....

Mommie has been working at an egg (looks like its got a widening crack) for several hours. So, Yes, in the morning I expect another Fuzzybutt. There are 15 more eggs to hatch.

These little ones are all over the place. She is trying to get that one open and that one Little Guy ( I bet its a drakelet) is all around, over and under her. The little yellow one keeps going under her and popping up to look around. They are getting so active, they won't be able to keep them under control much longer.

This is great. I love Ducky TV.

I went out to look since I was only seeing 3 little fuzzybutts on the camera. When I got out there Mamma and Auntie and the other 3 fuzzybutts moved to the opposite end of the nest and that is when I found the little yellow fuzzybutt dead in the nest. Mamma and Auntie allowed me to remove the little ducking. Mr Drake was not in the brooder house, we put him and Snow white in the chicken coop last night for fear they may harm the little ones. Which now we know he did not.

I believe that that one would not have made it anyway. He was a day younger than the other three, he did not walk around much and was much smaller than the other three. Upon removing him from the nest, I noticed that his feet were a great deal smaller than the others.

I may put Mr Drake back in the Brooder house tonight. I believe the Girls feel safer with him in there, but Snow White may have to stay with the chickens again tonight.

Will post more as things progress.

Update on the end of Hatch. Both Mommie/Auntie left the nest of eggs and it was several hours before I checked on them. Eggs cold and starting to be a bit stinky. They had taken the Ducklings to other side of the divider under the new Heat light. ( Put another in cause these are 3 little scooters.) They are all over.

Anyway, the girls obviously wanted the eggs removed, so I obliged them. 4 Bad eggs and 4 undeveloped and dead.

So the hatch is over. I have I Believe 1 Male - maybe Sir Francis Drake, we will see. One Female is Rider - likes to ride on Aunties back and I think another Femaile, probably Scooter,time will tell on that one. They have been out in the Duck House Run with Mommie and Auntie once the weather warmed a bit. They have been swimming in the water dish inside. Eating lots of Grower Food, Fine Chopped Celery, Scramled eggs and I ground them some Buckwheat, Amaranth and Millet that all enjoy.
Auntie went running over when the first one jumped in the water dish. She looked up at the heat light over it and you could almost see her think this will be O.K. She just turned around and went back to her food dish. They have all been swimming. Mommie is teaching them to Doo on the shavings and not the hay. She is the one that taught them to eat then drink, eat then drink. But they follow Auntie around.

I guess I'll wait a week or two before bringing Mr Drake and Snow White back into the Duck House.
