Eggs Are Here! First hatched chick!!! HELP?!

Sounds like we are hatching buddies! I am also day 10 and did my first candle today. Couldn't r/o anything so left them all. Will only toss smelly &/or seeping eggs, re-candle at lockdown on day 18 when I transfer to hatcher [if I have clears, will toss/open them then]. Sounds to me like you have GREAT instincts! Yeah I don't think I will candle again, really the welsummer eggs are just too dark to really see anything anyway
(not that I am totally sure what I should be looking for! LOL) I am excited that I was able to see movement in the BLRW and my son was able to see it too. I don't know which one of us was excited the most!
I checked out the candle sticky and looks like the cloudy ones matched up with the 11-ish day eggs, where you couldn't really see much but a dark cloud spot through the whole center.

Madcap, I peeped in on the hatch along a few days back, though haven't been on much the past couple days since school starting. I will be checking in more often now though! What are you hatching?

Tomorrow will make day 18, that is lock down, right?
I bring the humidity up to about 60? or 70ish?
When I candle the egg I shouldn't see right through it, right? if I do then that means it is clear and didn't develop and needs to be tossed? or should I just leave them in there anyway and see what happens?
I haven't noticed any stinky smell from the bator, so I assume that I don't have rotten ones.... they would smell by now wouldn't they if they were bad?

I am so excited!

I am locking down! Started out with 6 BLRW and 9 Welsummer. I candled this afternoon and I believe I have 5 BLRW and 4 welsummers that have progressed. I am leaving the others in there just incase I missed something, but have the suspect ones on one side so I know which ones they are.
Whew, How exciting and nerve racking all at the same time!
