Cloverleaf, I am looking forward to getting my eggs from you as well!

Not posting a lot this weekend because I am out at my parents. Will update on my eggs when I get back.

Paganbird, just getting to your question (using dads computer, lol). I think you are right about the cold being hard on shipping eggs? Or at least more so than usual. What I have seen with mine, seems like it is worse than shipping during the warmer weather. But I still have ones that are viable too?

I just seemed to end up with quite a few 1st-week-bloodrings this time. The only common factor with the shipped eggs this time that is different from my last shipped hatch is the outside temp.
Well, I better get to bed. It's been a loooooong day (and not a very good one) and I have to get up for work at 5am.
My 1st set to hatch is due on the 4th... so I stop turning on Monday night. These are the SF chicks & the sizzle/silkie mixes. I'm excited to see what hatches out of my ladies' eggs - I'm not entirely sure who laid them!

Just got online after being at the family house. It was a good weekend but I am GLAD to be home.

The 4th...that will be here before you know it! When they hatch, get some pictures, I know both I and my daughter will be anxious to see what the silkie/sizzles look like especially.

Hope your day was better than yesterday!

Candled the rest of the eggs to the best of my ability tonight. Looks like I have more blood rings too, probably due to cold but still have an acceptable amount that look promising.

blood rings? me too! Not mine but others. I think my count was 3 so far:-(

What's up with the BLOODRINGS!!!???
I lost another SF. And 2 more of my own.
I am beginning to wonder if those rotten swap eggs spread a bacterial infection through my 'bator!
On a happier note...
I candled again tonight. All 9 of my S/S eggs are swimming along nicely. The 2 SF eggs that made it this far will go into lockdown tomorrow. My single cochin egg is still hangin' on. Both cracked S/S eggs are looking good. I still have 25 of my LF eggs developing... and... one of the ducks that I thought was a bloodring ISN'T!

YAY!!!
I have 5, yes FIVE, ducklings developing. (Of the other 3 eggs, I had 2 bloodrings occur in the first 4 days, and the last egg was clear.)
The detached air cells make them hard to candle. I only saw movement in one of them, but I'm trying to be so careful!

sonew123, it must be the cold?

I will keep my fingers crossed for you! But again, I do have some out of everything I have in there developing so will consider myself lucky.

Paganbird, YAY on all the eggs that are developing!!!
