Eggs for food vs eggs for chicks...sound off please

Pics
My mom-in-law is adamantly refusing to eat at my house now and my sis-in-law is repulsed and "better not find out if I feed her a duck egg". I laugh it off but honestly...it angers me. Like, grow up already! I was so not raised closed-minded or picky. Guess who's getting lied to on Easter when they bite into that delish deviled BYC egg!
Really?! My parents gladly eat eggs from our backyard hens. We had a BBQ on tge 4th of July and I made deviled quail eggs. They got gobbled up in minutes, and everybody could see my quail pen just 50ft away from the patio. Even neighbors enjoy our eggs. I have yet to meet somebody who doesn't cherish fresh eggs.
And if is because it's a duck egg rather than a chicken egg, tell them that bakers have cherished duck eggs for centuries. They are considered a hidden secret of great baking.

Ditto this is what I mean, why not my eggs over store bought.... I respect preferences as well too, and the sneaking Is not right, and like the other member said, people have become way too far removed where the meat butter eggs and poultry come from, most of us process humanely etc but ppl choose to eat from stores cause they think it's "cleaner" that's why I tell them to watch videos such as "battery hens" and how factory farmed animals are raised in deplorable conditions, not all I'm sure but most, I'm not gonna get into it but I wish I could remember the documentary that showed it... Also I've worked in it years ago and saw it with my eyes. That's why I lovvve spoiling my Animals and eating clean and fresh etc..... You guys are all great and so informative too!!!!
Food Inc. is the movie that not only made me physically ill but I cried through the whole thing. I have long been an animal lover and find mistreatment and the food industry vile and heartless. Chickens in particular. I made my kids watch that film with me. They boycotted fast food for months but...kids... :/

Time to watch it again!

Anyhow, yes people are ignorant to the "funk" they put in their mouths regularly and all too often prefer to remain ignorant. My kids get educated. My in-laws...well I am not wasting any more O2 on that fight.

I am blessed to have the upbringing I had and to have the opportunity to pass it on and to now have CHICKENNNNNS! I love feeding my family. From venison to eggs to fresh sweet carrots wiped off on our jeans and eaten fresh from the garden.

And yes!, thank goodness for BYC! Gives me tge info and explainations to pass on more knowledge!

Yessss ...that's the name of the Documentary.... True people should really see what happens to an animal before it winds up on a foam plate at the grocery store, just in general, the processing part, if your gonna put something in your body you should know how, it ends up there. It doesn't just magically arrive there... Idk I'm not wasting any breath on my in-laws either.:barnie:lau:duc:bun

Unfortunately I know too many people who are turned off by the idea of fresh eggs. My biggest irritation with it is that they cannot place an actual sensible reason!
I get "eww! Just...because! Eww!" Eww? Really? Are you 4? Lmbo "that's just...no thanx i'll get mine where I know..." WAIT FOR IT!..."they are safe"! Safe! Safe? :he:th
At that point I give up. By then I have exhausted my legitimate, educated and provable points. (I am newer to RAISING my own but have eaten local farm eggs on and off for most of my memory).

So...more for me! Lol

Xactly! Even if you don't care about animal abuse and living conditions, knowing the nastiness that box store and restaurant meats and dairy are processed in should blow your mind! Idk where most here are from, but I live in the Thumb of Michigan. It's like living in one huge farm lol. Primarily crop farms and dairy. But loads of chicken, hogs, beef and small crop farms too. Farm markets and produce stands are hard to avoid. Summer is amazing here for healthy fresh eating! Surprised when anyone in this area shuns anything grown and bought next door!

I admit it. I’d never eaten an actual fresh egg before and I was hesitant. We buy fully free range eggs at the store and they’re good but nothing like our own chicken’S eggs! They are still pretty small but they are creamy, buttery and yummy!
Yay a converter.... What was it that turned you off initially??? I mean my girls have never seen a rooster .... So they are FAR from being fertile... I could understand or at least begin to understand that part lol
