So Daisy had been acting like she was nesting for about the past 2 weeks, but i couldn't find the nest. Well...I found it today. It had 22 eggs in it. I took them in and did the water test and got a carton and a half of "good" sinkers. Are they actually edible? Theyre in the fridge right now. Usually I collect her eggs the day if if not the day after.

Its been really cold and rainy here since I'm in SC and the weather hasn't decided if it wants to be winter or or summer.

The water test will not tell you any thing other than the size of the air cell. In order to determine if an egg is fresh enough to eat, crack it into a bowl or plate. Do a visual and sniff test. If the eggs have been laying on the ground, and have been stained, they are more likely to be bacteria contaminated.
