Eggs had a plane trip. Lets see what happens. I HAVE BABIES. and PICS.

I don't know, as I never set the ones with any kind of a crack. I have read where others use melted candle wax to seal them.

Nothing is coming out of the cracks, they are very small and thin. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens. If you want pics just let me know.
And I read somewhere today that bantams only take 17-18 days to hatch

I am really freaking out right now. I DO NOT want a staggered hatch. ooooooooooohhhhhhh ( sobs ) Kathy. Help me. Tell me what to do.

No, they should all hatch out at the same time. I recently hatched a bantam cochin with Delawares, and they all hatched out together.

Anyway, if anyone can do it .... you can! You are the queen of staggered hatches in a single incubator! You impressed me with your knowledge and dedication in that last group! You go girl! You're my # 1 hatching idol !

Do you have all the family involved in this hatch? How are they all liking the originals that you hatched?

Fewf, I am so glad they are all going to hatch the same day. ( I did have everything all planed out though, just in case they did hatch earlier

Thanks for the compliment. Your making me think, hmm I must not be too bad at this after all.

As for my family, I think the last time they saw the chickens was when they were still in their brooder in the car port and you had to walk past them to get to the cars

oh well, I love my beautiful chickens

which are, might I add, 16 weeks and 3 days old today

so this time ( as much as everone else tried to stop me ) I have put a little crate thing over the top of her for tonight to see if she still wants to be a mum tomorrow and if she does then I will have to make something else up for her and probably get some chicken eggs for her to sit on

YAY, a broody! What fun that will be! I just set mine up in a little dog house we have, and she did good with that. I sat the little dog house right in the same pen the other silkies are in, so she wouldn't be lonely! LOL Her little nest was at the back, and I put food and water near the door. Then I covered the end with wire, so the others would stay out. It worked out pretty well. After the hatch I moved her and the 4 babies into the rabbit hutch style coop.

You have a great day, and give your chicks a hug!

You're gonna have to sign up for a contest or something, so you can win a GFM. Then you will have tons of space available to upload LOTS of pictures!

Also the guinea fowl decided that being a mum isn't as much fun as she thought. So she threw that idea right out the window

I think she is just being lazy

If I can hatch out her eggs then surely she can too
