I am trying to take my mind off things at the moment couse in a few hours I have to take my doggy to the vet. she has a really big lump on the side of her belly and I am really hoping that it is not cancer. she is 12 in july.

first good luck with those lucky awesome eggs-second I had an older dog who had a large lump-a few actually- found out they were just fatty tumors-no surgery needed and they were fine just they way they were-he made it a few more years until natural old age crept in... I wish you the best at the vets

but if people that have these adventures share like you did it adds to our addiction. so its all good.!

That is cool to bring eggs home from vacation. Good luck with your hatch, and your dog.

Where in Queensland are you? I have family in Brisbane, Sawtell and Tasmania. I've been to Sawtell and Sydney, it's so beautiful. My great aunt just moved last year to Tasmania (from Sawtell), so we haven't visited there yet, but we would like to. With 4 of us, it's not an inexpensive trip. In fact, if I let him, my husband would have us all moving to Australia - permanently.

We particularly loved the crowded beach in Sawtell. We visited at the end of November to early December (2002), so summer was just beginning.

I'm hatching Delawares again soon, I should be getting about 2 dozen + eggs sent out next Monday, so they should be here by next Wednesday.
I can't wait!

This must be so exciting! Good luck on your hatch...I have a bator full o' eggs right now as well...My boys are now saying...mom, why do you have so many eggs? lol As they hatch, they claim them tho...

Thankyou everyone for all your kind thoughts.
The vet trip went really well and just like sonew123 said the lumps were just fat. when we went to Tasmania we left the dogs at my grandmothers place, she complains about her weight ( I think she was 6 kg ) then she feeds chicane ( my dog ) twice the amount she is normally fed two times a day ( she was 8.8 kg yesterday )

It is getting really annoying.

This is chicane with all her hair shaved off ( she looks like a big polar bear now ). you can see the fat lump on her thigh from the last time she was at my grandmothers.

DITTO!!

BEST of luck on your hatch!

Oh, on the cracked one...yes, DEFINITELY you need to seal those cracks, or the egg WILL (without a doubt) begin to leak. You can just drip some plain (unscented/undyed) candle was on it. If you don't have that, I've heard you can also use Elmer's glue - put a few drops on & smooth with your fingertip.

Thankyou so much for telling me that. would bees wax be okay to melt on the cracks?
