Eggs Hatching Early! New Duckling! Pics

If it has visible veins is that a good sign or could it have died still?

Ok, where abouts is the pip? A pip looks like part of the shell has been broken. post# 25 shows a clear pip, but for some reason I can see 2?

There were veins thursday when candled but it looks like veins through the shell.
The spot I was wondering about is over to the left side of the egg when looking at it. It looks like a circle.

Ok, I'm not entirely sure if I can see it, but if you can, then it may be a pip

Yes, there will be a few veins around that time, if you look at the inner membrane of the egg, you may see some surrounding it, which is normal

Good luck

Thank you. I am going back to school to check on them later. Should I put wet cotton balls in to be safe?

Yeah, ok, I suppose it wont hurt them, and anyway, if the humidity is too high, the incubator will change it accordingly. Please keep me updated, and feel free to ask anymore questions.

Once again, good luck

I went to the class tonight and the duckling had not progressed much from this morning. I had called an avian vet and they said to peel some of the shell so I did and I peeled a little more and went to move him and he popped out.

The incubator is so small he couldn't stand up so they said it would be ok to move him to the brooder. I have the temp at 90. He seems strong. What should I look out for.

Do you think he will be ok? The other egg is zipping too. I put some water on it since I had to open the incubator to help the other one. I can hear him chirping.
