Eggs have disappeared! Help!

I am dealing with an egg eating squirrel. He is breaking more of them than eating them. He is obviously trying to carry them out of the building and dropping them all over the place.

I have set a small animal trap and baited it with an egg. It is securely fastened to tops of two posts between horse stalls (his escape route when I come into the barn).

Cross your fingers for me.

I would like to know what the trail cam showed. We had a bantam sitting on quail eggs, each day one or two eggs were gone, come to find out, quite by accident of course, another bantam was eating them shell and all.

If it is an egg eater, it is best to rehome that bird ....my sister's flock had one egg-eating hen that taught her bad habit to others....she ended up getting rid of about 6 hens to stop the spread of the habit.

One way you can get rid of an egg eater problem is to hollow out the inside of an egg and then fill the eggshell with mustard. They are in for a disgusting surprise! (Chickens hate mustard.)
