Eggs in incubator 8/22. Anyone else putting eggs in?

It seems like your neck of the woods has most of the pretty orps! My batch came from Tennesse, and most BYC sellers of blue orps are in Georgia. Very frustrating here in California!

Just got done candling my eggs on day 4. Since I am new to this, I am not posotive if what I am thinking is right or not. But I guess we will see as the days pass.

As of right now I can see 19 of my 20 with a spot and veins.

I think I need to get a brighter light for my homemade candler. The bulb I was using burnt out anyways

, so gives me a chance to upgrade.

Hopefully in 17 days I will be seeing this

lol, I candled early too - but I"m waiting til day 18 to pitch any eggs. These are all shipped w/ the exception of two, several were clear, several had veins and what looked to possibly be blood rings, one had a bouncing embryo. I'll candle again in a week or so to get a better idea as to what's happening in there.
On another note, the caulk on the cooler-bator is drying - i'll have my hatcher up and running in plenty of time!

Isn't today day 3? Put them in noonish on the 22cnd, so the 23rd was day 1. the 24th was day 2, and the 25th (today) day 3?

That's why I do a group hatch.... someone reminds me when to start lockdown...

I candled too... (shhh, don't tell sky warrior) and I only saw three that looked viable. But I'm not sure how good my light is, so I'll recheck the ones that didn't look good in a couple of days. Won't be touching the three good 'uns till day 10 when I check their weight and recandle.

day 8 for my bator
day 5 for my broody
day 4 for my small bator
day 1 for my staggered hatch in the big bator.

you all were talking day 3 and i was cornfused(a little worse tha confused). I mush have joined when i set the small batch.

Same here - my FIRST batch went in Aug 17th, then more went in the 19th, a few more the 21st and the last batch the 24th. Seems like our start date is Aug 22nd, give or take a week!
