Eggs in incubator day 19

My chicks are feathering at very different speeds too. Big foot is the only chick atm with a very clear comb. Not sure if that's a sign it's a cockerel or just the type of chick it is. Most of my other chicks have tufts fluffy heads.

Thank you... my little dark one is so exhausted from its hatch and the yellow one is rather excited to have a companion! It follows it around and keeps waking it up 😄 aw fun day ahead. My children aren't well and it's half term... I know what we're doing today 👀🐣😅

I'm a little unprepared though. It's only day 19 and I was expecting tonswt my broader box up end of this week thinning they'd start appearing day 21 and come after thar. My fault, I had read bantams can arrive earlier just didn't think that would be my luck 🙃 ⏱️
yeah. I don't even hatch bantam, but Iv'e got a cheap incubator that doesn't hold heat well, so I usually set the temperature a degree or two higher, and then the first chick hatches a day early. it makes things a bit more complicated, but the eggs in the corner get enough heat that way.

I made an incubator with a semi automatic egg turner so I can hatch my own chicks .I don't plan on hatching any until spring but if one of my hens goes broody I'll let her hatch some.Nothing cuter than baby farm animals!
