We have 3 year old Hens and twice an egg has been laid in the last week without a yolk.Wondering if they are missing something in their diet. They are being fed laying feed. They are also slow on laying this year Maybe an egg every 3 days. Anty experiance with this would be helpful

Please describe diet including treats and supplements. Do you know breed? How's your weather.. mild, hot, etc.

Could still be a hiccup.. mature hens may experience them when returning to lay, did they molt this year?

See this article (#14) for some possibilities..

Feed is

DuMOR 16% Layer Poultry Feed Pellets, Calcium Fortified,

They get all sorts of treats from kitchen scraps and scratch from store. Also they are free ranged quite a bit.I have a bowl with oyster too. Weather has been a normal nice spring. They are Isa Browns. Yes they molted and started laying this year at the beginning of March.

All the extras are diluting the minimal nutrition in the feed.
3yo production hens may well be at the end of their optimal production lives.
