Hi, i'm am wondering how long an egg can stay outside in a hot temperature before it is no longer okay to eat? We live in FL it's very hot here, right now its probably 90 with a "feels like" temperature of 106, our chicken almost always lays eggs around noon when everyone is working, someone is usually home by three and the first thing we do is check for eggs. The box she has them in is on the porch in the shade, so it is not 106 where her eggs are, how long is it okay for her eggs to be sitting outside before they aren't safe to eat?

I think they're fine. I've eaten eggs that a hen set on for a few days. The yolks were runny but they still tasted OK.

Collect every day and they'll be fine regardless of temperature.

Okay, we do collect them everyday, were just worried about it being so hot outside, she likes to sit on them for about 20 minutes after she lays them and then gets hungry, Lol, Thank You!
