OP, are you talking about the eggstractor that has the bellows that goes over the egg and pops it out of the bottom of the little platform? those things *totally* work, every time. there's a little technique to getting it right, but once you get the feel of it, they never never miss.
the method causes air to flow into the egg and between the shell and the egg itself, freeing the egg, which then slides out the bottom. perfect every time.
poke a hole in the eggshell on the air-bubble end (has to pierce the shell and the membrane). crackle the shell on the opposite end (about the side of a quarter) by popping it on a hard surface or rolling it back and forth just a tiny bit. only want the quarter-sized area crackled. put it on the little stand crackled side down over the opening. bellows goes on over the top. place both hands on the top of the bellows and with a sharp, quick, firm action press downward with both hands as quick as you can. kinda like CPR. the air inside the bellows pressurizes, flows into the eggshell, separates the egg from the shell, and blows the egg out the bottom, intact. usually the shells are intact too - a 3/4 shell in the bellows, a perfect peeled egg underneath!
