Eggtopsy: What happened to my egg? {Graphic Pictures}

Pics
No internal pip..... No movement.... No sounds... Should I candle again tonight to see if its tried while I was gone? If its dead then I'll try again. I'm not going to give up!!!!!!! I'll try the float test if it hasn't internally pipped
NO DONT GIVE UP, its so friggen awesome !!! we can help you through the next one!! I answered your Pm.. : )

Oops yeah scrolling down is a big pain. I will make my incubator good and perfect for my next incubation! This incubation was a failure, but I will just try again and fix why I did wrong. I took pictures of my eggtopsie and will post them in a few!

Good for you Sparky! sorry about lil peeper but next time you got this !!

I had a hatch just about 2 weeks ago, I messed up my dates (it was day 19) and candled one and realized 4 were internally pipped and all 7 were alive and kicking. I was running the swamp cooler still so humidity was ok. But 2 never pipped (internal or external) and were dead by the next day. The other 5 all hatched on day 20. I eggtopsied and the 2 that didn't pip were fully formed and the egg yolk was absorbed already. So not really sure what happened with them. These were not shipped or refrigerated and were fresh, only 48hr old when put into the incubator.
And of course my rooster curse is still alive and kicking. Out of 5 eggs (shipped) 3 are roosters and the 5 mutts above 3 are roosters. 10 chickens 6 roosters. Sigh!

OMG the curse of the Roosters... when u gonna hatch again?

I am looking for English Orpigton eggs right now. I found some, but the they are pretty pricey and shipping from a looooooong way away. Might hold off until spring, then more options will be available. Might even just order live chicks as I found a site with beautiful English Orpingtons and live chicks will cost about the same as what I am looking at for eggs. But I do love hatching my own!

Just did eggtopsy tonight, very sad. Had 5 ameraucana eggs in and not a one made it. One had a pool of fluid still guessing death about day 15, one was fully grown and yolk absorbed but upside down in the egg, 3 did not internal pip or absorb the yolk but looked fully grown. Does this mean death about day 18? These are eggs from my own chickens, no older than one week when set.

I also had about 15 EE eggs in there (same rooster different hen) and got about 8 chick that hatched (so far- there's a few still in there). This particular Ameraucana hen I have been having 1/6 and 0/5 for the last two hatches, but now she is not laying due to molting. During the same hatches I had shipped eggs hatch decently (4/7, 3/5). During eggtopsies most of the eggs are fully grown, about half have their yolk absorbed, and rarely do they internal pip. So frustrating. Anyway since the EE eggs are hatching OK (not great, this time around I know that the incubator was too low temp for a while due to a cold spell and a malfunctioning thermometer), I know our rooster is not the problem and I am beginning to wonder if something is wrong with the hen. If she free ranges and has free access to 18% layer feed and crushed eggshells I don't know what else I can do for her, nutrition-wise? Maybe after she finishes her molt whatever deficiencies she may have had will resolve themselves? Before the heat of summer hit her eggs were hatching better, can't remember exactly but more like 50-70% hatches. Still figuring out the details of hatching but I learn something new every time...

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Upset!!! I killed a chick!!!! One of Chads BCM x Comets!! I did a quick candle cause I had to move them to my old styro bator because the cooler bator humidity was way way to high from all these guys hatching and the rain!!!! I need to figure something out for next time to add and remove water,I told the hubby but he never listens! not that I can blame this on him....

OMG I candled and it looked half empty!!! and I thought it was dead, it didnt move and just didnt look black inside like all his other eggs!
I took pics but OMG graphic! dont know if I should post or not??????????????????? Its something I definately have LEARNED FROM!!!!

I candled and took pics, and then eggtopsy both eggs one was a bad egg with death around day 14??
