You’re right; that is strange… I do still think it’s a male though, because usually a pullet’s comb only turns darker red when she’s almost ready to lay her first egg. Yours’ comb and wattles are too large and red at this age to be a female’s. I’ve never had Egyptian Fayoumis so I may be wrong, but maybe he will grow out of the hen-like coloration and patterning and into more of a rooster’s.The issue with mine is her coloring says hen. Fayoumis hens do get a comb and wattles but its smaller than the rooster. The rooster coloring is different than a hen for the Egyptian Fayoumis.
