Are they loud?

I am going to have them in a 24' by 18' and let them out everyday in our yard. Will that work?

I am getting Nene Geese also... Could I let the Nene's and the Egyptians out at the same time?

Ryan!

spectrumranch i am IN LOVE with all your photos. I won't get the pair i saw, because i called, and was told they do have angel wing...

Darn it!!!! Do you sell eggs? Your white egyptians are GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

spectrumranch, I'm going to go out on a limb and say, I think your set-up is much different than many a backyard flock keeper. Your land and your birds are incredible. I have no doubt that in your situation you find egyptians to be a good bird.

I have a rep as being a SOB myself. I was contacted by a person in Texas that claimed to have 57 young grown birds that he could sell me at $10/bird but I would have to come and catch and transport them myself, I told him NO THANKS! and put a block on his email address. They are beautiful but so are sharks and sharks don't fly. They look young in that picture, If they have the red spot on their breast they are old enough to be dangerous.

Was the guy harrassing you that you had to block his email??????Lets just say he was a very persistant salesman! LOL I don't know much about 4 footed animals is that white/ black sploch thing a deer or a goat?

TO me the birds in the photo look like adults- young birds would not have as distinct markings on the neck ring and eye patch, they would also have a greyish tint in the white wing shoulders. The birds in the photo are in poor feather on the breast and lower neck- so the red chest patch would not be visible. Also looks like the closer bird has an angelwing or atleast some issue with the wing feathers.

Egyptian hens have a louder call that they sound off anytime they are alarmed. The males just make a hissing sound.

Couple things-

1. During breeding the Egyptians will become territorial- so you may want to keep them penned during breeding season.

2. Depending on the size of the yard------Sharing a small yard with only one other pair of birds will make it easier for them to boss them around.

When there is groups of birds- it becomes harder for any one pair to control the others.

In my opinion- angel wing would not be a problem. But i would question if the two in the photo are a male and female. They both look more like males to me, but with just one photo and not actually seeing them- It is hard to tell.

We are hoping to sell Egyptian eggs this spring- we have 4 pairs of colored, 4 pairs of Whites and a few pairs of Colored/White. I am planning on keeping them penned so I know when they are laying and can pick eggs as they are laid.

Ohhh LOL I need to learn how to read. Ok thank you so much Im excited to get my pair!

What Im going to do is let my Nene's out in the yard they are going to live with my Cayugas. So if I let out 2 Egyptians, 2 Nene's, and like 8 Cayugas then they will have 10 other birds running the yard with them.. How does that sound? I just want them to get the grass to eat.

PS Randy your PM box if full
