ELI5 Why do so many ppl treat chickens expendable??

Pics
Here’s some info for you: I can not eat store bought eggs. It causes severe stomach pain. For years I thought I was allergic to eggs. Nope. Fresh don’t bother me in the least. Interesting huh?
That is because of how battery hens are treated. I have heard many other people say battery hen eggs causes them stomach pain but free-range hen eggs do not. It does the same thing for me as well. Not like I eat anything with battery hen eggs in its ingredients anymore.

I think bantams might be endangered by the common cat. I've only ever attempted bantams once and they didn't make it unfortunately, I think it was a cat. Full sized chickens are obviously cat immune though
I breed and raise purebred bantams. Bantams will attack chickens, dogs, and goats if they get to close to their babies or to them. I’ve even had the rooster got after a bald Eagle and hawks. Bantams are also very good flyers and run extremely fast. They are batter in my opinion getting away from predators than standards. My standards always get killed why before a bantam will.

I’ve said it a few times on this thread, I’ll say it again, I LOVE bantams! Yes they are fast! Especially the babies. They’re these tiny fuzz balls with super speed. It’s like something you’d see in a cartoon!

I agree 100%. My chickens are pets before anything else. At the end of their lives, if they are suffering, I will humanely cull them but they will live out their lives happy and healthy ❤️
I consider my chickens livestock. Pampered livestock. They produce eggs for me and in return I take very good care of them. My mind set is if I was a chicken, how would I want to be treated.

That is how I see my chickens. They bring me happiness, so in turn I must bring them happiness.

Bantams are definitely my choice of chickens. They are more skilled at survival and easier to take care of because of their size. And according to other people, bantam eggs taste better than large fowl eggs. As you stated, bantams are so much better at flight, they can go faster and are more agile. And to think I see a lot of people calling chickens "flightless birds" and "flight-impaired."

I’m not wanting an argument I’m genuinely trying to understand. Why are chickens, especially roosters treated so expendable? (Not talking about broilers). I’ve seen and read so many ppl culling their chickens/unwanted roosters and throwing out the body with the garbage. Unwanted rooster, kill it, burn it or bury it. And just recently I read about a person who killed his roosters and used the body for bait. Can someone explain to me why this is acceptable? If it was a cat or dog it’d be cruelty to animals and illegal.
Honestly I have no clue. People think they have no other choice. Buuut, that's totally wrong. If you look it up you can find rooster sanctuaries and even people who are just starting on there chicken journey and in need of a roo. I can understand if you are eating it and not wasting. Or if you own to eat. But other then that I don't get it either. It's just so wrong.

I guess the flight thing is dependent on breed. My bantams are definitely faster than my standards, but they can not fly, at all. They’re very round fluffy stocky little things.

Again, not everyone can just give away roosters. Sanctuaries aren't always common, and from a biosecurity point (again), some people cannot have birds leave their flocks
