Anybody tried to detect sound of beating heart in hatching egg?

That would be great alternative method to candling.
I was never able to candle brown shelled eggs, also candling requires some skills and experience, to me it's kind of a hassle anyway.

There is a device to check hatching eggs on the market doing just that, but it is very pricey.

I wonder if a sensitive mike hooked to audio amp would detect the sound of beating heart in the developing egg.

I am going to try something like this whith my next hatch.

Thanks for bringing up the link, I did not bookmarked it and I lost it.

Y'know, now they have those little monitors for pregnant women so people can listen to the baby inside anytime they want. Wonder if that would work on the little eggies?

Wow! Those look like they would be awesome. I wonder how reliable they are and if they could be bought here.

Wow after reading this link I went and got out my stephascope and listened to one of my silkie eggs that are due to hatch the 13 and you can hear it inside of the egg..how interesting..
