EMERGENCY - 2 Coturnix Quail foot broken OFF

Her wound/knee is very swollen and has a bit of green discoloration which is very concerning ...
Thank you all for your time, good night.

I love what you are doing for Friend (cute name BTW). Poor girl. I hope she recovers. Do you have any idea how she injured her leg? or did I miss that post? 😄
I am almost certain her leg was shut in her outdoor enclosure's door by a kid. He didn't mean to though, he is very upset about it, I feel bad for him. She would love running to the door so when he was helping feed my quails she must have ran in the way ...

Hello everyone, sorry once again for the late update, things have been super busy and crazy for me lately, with a heat wave and water problems, etc.

Friend seems to be still doing well. She is acting and eating normal!
I still have her in my room and give her daily litter changes.
I put another quail in the cage with her, her name is Snowflake, she is pretty laid back. She is 1.5 years old with poor eyesight, so she is safe to keep with Friend.
Friend has been much happier since I moved Snowflake with her.
Friend's wound swelling has went significantly down, but the swelling is a much darker color ... I don't know if that's good or bad.
She is moving around surprisingly well despite not having half of her other leg.
I plan to post pictures from her tomorrow.

Once again, thank you all for your help and advice, I will continue to update. Good night and happy Sunday.

I noticed Friend had some food stuck to her wound (some water had spilt in her cage), so I soaked her wound in Epsom salt water for 10 mins to help clean her wound and to help reduce swelling.
After the soak I gently cleaned away at her wound, she got startled and kicked, and a burst of blood came out of the swelling.
I ran and wiped up the blood, no more blood came out and still hasn't.
Then my sister helped me take these photos attached to this (the blood on my hand is from her).
I think the swelling that hasn't went down is mostly blood.
After we took these photos I gave her cage new litter, food, and water.
She has eaten food and hopped around since, but her feathers are super puffed out and she looks upset.
Right before I soaked her she was very happy and did not have ruffled feathers.
This has all took place within the last 20 mins.
Any help and advice is greatly needed, I am afraid I did something terribly wrong. What should I do? Thank you all for your time, I am sorry for this drama.

I'm afraid that might be infection. Can you call a vet to see what antibiotics they might recommend?
Thank you for the advice, I will look into that. She thankfully not very ruffled anymore, but I am very concerned about her swelling.
Her leg is much less swollen compared to last week overall, but as the photos show, the front of her leg is still very swollen ...
Once again, thank you very much.
I will update again tomorrow, good night and God bless.

Certain antibiotic creams are available over the counter that are meant for humans but are okay for birds. I dont know if topical treatment will work at this point tho
