Emergency duckling...

[Just Hatch duck]

Hi, I just hatched 10 healthy ducklings but one i found this morning didn't look right, he tries hard to keep his eyes open and he doesn't seem well... what do you guys think?

How long ago did he hatch? I assume just hours by the pic but you said you found it this morning. Are they in a brooder with a heat lamp, water and feed?

yeah, i watched him hatch it was about 30 minutes before the picture. and he has a heat lamp, with food and water but he dosen't seem to move that much.

It looks like he hatched prematurely. Take a cup, and stuff a paper towel inside, put the little guy back in one half of the egg and put him back in the incubator to let it finish absorbing the yolk.

When I get one like that I drip some betadine or chlorhexadine on the umbilicus and place them on a soft, clean towel in the incubator.

Was not ready..Small container with a soft paper towel and back into incubator. It needs to absorb the yolk.
