Is this a slipped tendon? Holding it outward and to the side/back. Seems twisted. I can bend the knee and feel maybe the tendon roll but it doesn’t stay put. I want to brace him but don’t want this to be the wrong treatment. Do I brace straight or bent? Think I will also make a chair for him.

Excluding surgical resolution of the leg angulation, these chicks tend to fair a poor prognosis as far as correcting angulation. Bracing tends to be unsuccessful, and could very likely worsen the problem. If you have a veterinarian in your area experienced with birds, it may be worthwhile speaking to them regarding surgical resolution. If not an option, you could attempt to see how the chick gets along, offer some supportive care, but if the improvement is not seen you may consider euthanasia. Slipped tendon often occurs when there is a mineral or vitamin deficiency.

I think it was a dish I had put in to feed some left over feed that caused it actually. I have them on vitamin water so I would think there wouldn’t be a deficiency but I did add some nutritional yeast to their feed to be sure. Thanks for your advice. I don’t see any improvement with offering daily readjustments. He walks but not the best.
