Emergency! Intestines or yolk sac?? Please help!!

I don’t have much experience with yolk sacs or prolapsed intestines. But I would think it still could be intestines coming out of an umbilicus if it herniated. Time will tell, but I would try to get the chick to take some nutrition.
He doesnt want to eat yet. Should I assist feed or just leave him be?

So sorry to hear that. I just came on the thread to see how he was doing. 😥

You cared for him and gave him a chance, that's a good thing.

Is there anything you can do to prevent snakes getting in again, or at least deter them?

I have no experience so cannot offer any advice.
Thank you, that means a lot. 🥲

I think I'm just going to put any broody hens into my snake-proof chick pen next time I want to hatch eggs. It would be really hard for me to effectively snake proof the entire coop

I do the same, as far as I built separate secure broody/chick pens completely wrapped in 1/2" hardware cloth. The woodland copperhead and rat snakes are relentless in my wooded rural area. Despite my best efforts, the pens have been breached several times over the years. But overall, 98% of hatched chicks survive the snakes to live to adulthood. That compares to my neighbor across the street, who doesn't separately pen her game hen broodies. Her broodies lose ALL their eggs and chicks to snakes. 100% losses, usually before the eggs hatch or chicks reach 2 weeks old. I'm truly sorry about both your broody and her chick. Broody hens have an extra-special place in my heart.
